English Prescribing Data for October 2023

We updated the Prescribing dataset with the latest available NHS English Prescribing data including activity up until October 2023. This is contained in the 2023 data file and supporting dimension (i.e. lookup/reference) files.

You can download the data from the Open Data Blend Datasets Prescribing page, analyse it directly in supported BI tools through the Open Data Blend Analytics service, or instantly explore insights through the Pharma Market Insights report.

What Did We Deliver in 2023?

In 2023, our focus was on the stability of our services, ensuring that they remain resilient and performant, while also delivering continuous value.

Here are some highlights from the year:

• Introduced the MOT Insights report which visualises trends and patterns for MOT tests carried out across the UK.

• Upgraded the ReactJS framework that powers the Open Data Blend website to keep things ticking along smoothly and ready to support future enhancements.

• Enhanced the MOT Insights report to give you improved analyses on vehicle makes and MOT test timings.

• Introduced the Vehicle Maintenance Insight report that enables you to quickly explore the defects that result in MOT test warnings and failures.

• Extended the Open Data Blend Datasets UI with a floating table of contents, making it easier for you to find and jump to areas of interest when viewing a dataset page.

• Released Open Data Blend for Python 1.3.0 which introduces a powerful function that further simplifies the steps to download a collection of data files from our dataset API in Python.

• Increased the download limit for free Open Data Blend data files from 10 to 15.

• Released Open Data Blend for Python 1.4.0 which introduced support for OneLake in Microsoft Fabric.

• Smashed our 99.5% uptime SLAs by achieving over 99.9% availability for all our SLA-backed services. You can see our track record for yourself on the Open Data Blend Status page.

What's coming in 2024?

In 2024, we plan to:

• Improve the look and feel of all our Insight Reports and introduce some new ones.

• Look for opportunities to expand our carefully curated datasets with a continued focus on quality over quantity.

• Look for ways to grow our community of free users and encourage the sharing of impactful open data insights.
